Shawni Miller

Shawni is a licensed clinical social worker from Perryville, Missouri. Shawni first chose to work in the mental health field when her friend, Jesse died by suicide in high school, leading her to want to help others in their darkest moments.

Shawni has been with Community Counseling Center for 10 years and serves as the Emergency Services Supervisor working with those in crisis that struggle with thoughts of suicide, planting seeds of hope. Shawni is the secretary of the SEMO Crisis intervention team (CIT) council that works with law enforcement and mental health professionals and assists in training in crisis intervention.

She has participated in American foundation for suicide prevention out of darkness walks and survivors of loved ones to suicide days. She is trained in assessing and managing suicide risk and collaborative assessment and management of suicidality, and is a trainer on counseling on access to lethal means. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her 15 year old daughter, her boyfriend, side by side rides, traveling, exercising, and competitive bodybuilding.
